EBSA2025 Abstract call for Oral and Poster Presentations
The 15th European Biophysical Congress – EBSA2025 – is your premier platform to present cutting-edge research in biophysics. Sharing science will be at the centre of this meeting, and we are much looking forward to your contributions.
We warmly encourage your participation in EBSA 2025! To make it more accessible, abstract submissions are free of charge, and Student Bursaries are available to support young researchers with registration and accommodation costs.
As part of the Congress’s vibrant scientific program, participants will have the opportunity to present their work through Oral Communications and Poster Communications, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration across the scientific community.

*Late Abstracts for poster presentation will be accepted until May 31th. Approved Late Abstracts will be available online during the congress and will be assigned a poster number for presentation during one of the poster sessions, but will not be included in the printed Congress Abstract book nor in the EBJ Congress volume
Abstract Consideration and Presentation
Continuous Evaluation: Abstracts for poster and oral presentations will be reviewed continuously and notifications of acceptance will be sent by email.
Poster Presentations: Posters will be displayed during designated Poster sessions at the meeting.
Oral Presentations: Approximately 110 abstracts will be selected for 15-minute oral presentations within one of the 28 Parallel Symposia. Authors selected for oral presentation will be notified via email no later than 24 March.
Publication in Congress Volume: Accepted abstracts with at least one registered co-author (registration deadline 31 March) will be published in a Congress volume of the European Biophysics Journal (EBJ), sponsored by Springer. Abstracts and participant lists not meeting this deadline will only be available online during the meeting.
Presentation Preferences: While authors may indicate they preferred presentation type, the final decision will rest with the Congress organizers.
Abstract submission
Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the conference website. Submission via any other means, such as mail or email, will not be accepted.
Please refrain from submitting the same abstract multiple times.
Upon submission, you will receive an automated email confirmation with your abstract reference code from abstract@ebsa2025.eu. If you do not see the email, please check your spam folder.
For inclusion in the EBSA2025 Congress book, at least one author must register as a participant by 31 March.
All presentations will take place in person. Ensure the presenter’s name and affiliation are accurate to maintain program integrity.
Instructions for authors
- Language: Abstracts must be written in standard English.
- Submission Format: Text input only; no file uploads or images are permitted.
- Content Requirements: Abstracts should be a single, unreferenced paragraph (no subheadings) containing: Introduction (background/aims); Methods; Results; Conclusion.
- Length: Abstracts must not exceed 1400 characters excluding the title, authors, and affiliations.
- Publication Agreement: By submitting your abstract, you agree to its publication in the Congress book and the EBJ Conference volume.
Poster presentation
- Dimensions: Maximum size is 95 cm (width) x 150 cm (height).
- Assistance: On-site staff will provide materials and guidance for poster setup.
- Poster Brief: Prepare a 1–2 minute summary to discuss your poster during the session.
- Take-Down Policy: Posters must be removed at the assigned time to avoid disposal.
Oral Presentations
Authors of abstracts selected for oral presentations will receive detailed instructions upon acceptance.
